Today’s Photo Of The Day is “First Light – Acadia” by Harry Lichtman. Location: Acadia National Park, Maine.
“While the lower elevations around Cadillac Mountain didn't exhibit spectacular color, I found the alpine regions were bountiful in glowing wild blueberry and dwarf birch,” recalls Lichtman. “When backlit by the rising sun, the foliage glowed. During autumn, Cadillac Mountain receives the first rays of sun on the East Coast of the United States. I manually combined two exposures for this image to capture the full dynamic range to better represent what I could see just before the sun broke through the clouds.”
